ABOUT

Hello! My name is Blake Driver Brown and my personal and professional philosophy is that  EXERCISE IS MEDICINE! My life's passion revolves around helping others achieve their optimal health and wellness goals through proper fitness training and nutrition education. I specialize in helping people who need it the most; those who have tried other trainers, group fitness classes, gym memberships, restrictive diets ect., and have ultimately failed to achieve their goals.

Many of my most successful past clients were actually physically hurt by prior fitness programs that pushed them too hard for their current abilities and/or made them suffer through restrictive and unrealistic diet plans. This is NOT the way it should be, nor does it work for long term results. I personally believe these types of intense diets and workouts are unsustainable, and very often leave people mentally discouraged, physically exhausted, and worst of all, prone to injury. Sound familiar?

I view exercise as medicine, and just like medicine, there is an optimal dose-response relationship between the exercise prescription and the desired effect. In addition, and perhaps most importantly, is the mind-body connection between the external physical exercise itself, and the internal way your mind interprets the movements. In my professional opinion, optimal training should be both mentally and physically challenging, while simultaneously FUN and ENJOYABLE. No matter who you are, what your physical condition currently is, or what your health and fitness goals may be, I can help show you the path towards achieving long term sustainable results.

I recently moved back to my hometown of Belleville, IL and have had the pleasure of buying my first home, and have created an ideal, private, in home training studio.  For the past four years I have worked with clients in and around Nashville TN, working and training in a variety of settings with a very diverse clientele. The main cause for moving back home was to be closer to family, and advance my knowledge base by earning my next Undergraduate Degree from Goldfarb at Barnes-Jewish in Nursing, which I will be starting in the summer of 2018.

Before moving to Nashville, I earned my first Undergraduate Degree at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. Upon graduation, I was offered a Teaching Assistantship (TA) in the graduate school department of Kinesiology. During the following two years I earned my Master's Degree in Exercise Science while teaching undergraduate kinesiology and nutrition courses. During my 7 years of higher education at SIU, I also taught group fitness classes and worked one on one training my personal clients at the student recreation center.

My extensive knowledge of human nutrition combined with my love and understanding of exercise science specifically sets me apart from your average personal trainer. I have had success training a diverse clientele with different physical, mental, and physiological capabilities and ages with an equally diverse set of health and fitness goals. But no matter what your personal background is, or your personal goals may be, one thing is for certain: I would love to help you achieve them!
